Happy Customer Service Week! Today we're kicking-off the week by celebrating the people who make Orbis, Orbis: Our Customer Experience Team.
There’s a reason we call them the Customer Experience Team at Orbis. No matter how big or small the task, they deliver the best possible experience for your success. Like seeking advice from an old friend, they’re there when you need them the most.
A nimble team with many talents, together, they’re working behind the scenes to solve the trickiest of problems.
Whether you’re curious about a feature or envisioning a new workflow, product expert Linda will dazzle you with time-saving solutions. Warning: do anticipate Linda’s use of the terms ‘hot darn’ and ‘let’s take a boo!’
If you hit a configuration snag – have no fear, Alex and Brad can untangle just about any sticky situation.
Need some reporting tips? Mariam and Saheb have you covered…they’ll even throw in a Netflix recommendation.
Alexandra, Jon, Clarenz and Ryan make you feel right at home on support calls. Jon will even offer you a hot cup of coffee on-the-house.
Parlez-vous français? Bilingual support specialists, Huk and Hakeem, deliver support in your preferred language.
Every challenge is an opportunity for our team to problem solve with empathy, agility, curiosity, humour and a whole lotta caffeine. But it’s not all work, no play. Outside the “office” they’re world travelers, parents (human, plant, animal), gamers, multilinguists, community mentors, SQL wizards, teachers, and friends.

Role: Product Success Coach
- Clarenz was born and raised in the Philippines, he moved to Canada at age 11.
- There’s a reason he’s such a high-performing support coach, he’s really into powerlifting and Olympic lifting.
- A great mentor and friend, Clarenz is a Youth and Young Adults Minister at his local church.
Name: Alex Sheppard
Role: Product Success Coach and Community Content Specialist
- Alex has a special gift of reviving (almost) any plant, except for the Orbis office hostas ☹
- She enjoys strolling the streets with her cat Ziggy in her backpack. Yes, you read that right!
- An Orbis ‘OG’ – Alex has been with the team for over 5 years.

Title: Director, Technical Infrastructure
- I like bicycles. I own five of them. It's a bit of a problem.
- This is my second career. I previously studied and worked in photography.
- Growing up, my family would take in stray cats. I've had more than 15 cats over the years! (I'm still more of a dog person)

- Every morning requires a big cup of java.
- Big fan of The Lord of the Rings…secret fan of realty show Love Is Blind. (Shhh, don’t tell her I told you!)

Name: Linda Challacombe
Title: Product Succes Coach & Project Onboarder
- Linda has a sweet tooth. She’ll eat cake for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dessert, but never dinner (life is all about balance).
- Will travel for good ice cream, and always saves the end of her cone for her dog, Antonio.
- Linda has met two prime ministers. And now that she has officially moved to our nation’s capital, it’s likely she’ll add more to the list!

Title: Product Success Coach & Technical Specialist
- You can find him participating in code wars on the weekends.
- Saheb is Orbis’ newest social convenor and loves to plan after work team outings.
- Listens to the Weeknd (R&B singer), even on weekdays.
Name: Huk Komlan
Title: Product Success Coach
- Proud dad of two daughters.
- Tea > coffee.
- Huk loves to cook…and eat! He’s always happy to be the taste-tester and is first in line at Orbis brunches.
Name: Brad Thomson
Role: Senior Technical Analyst
- Brad, along with 14% of the population dislikes cilantro and thinks it tastes like soap. Surprisingly, he loves margaritas.
- His pop culture trivia knowledge is unmatched. Favourite Actor: Kurt Russell.
- Brad sang the national anthem at three Toronto Blue Jay games…and remembered every word!
Name: Ryan Collins
Title: Product Success Coach
- Ryan is a world traveler. He’s visited over a dozen countries with his wife and plans to see lots more!
- Owns a huge collection of classic video game consoles and software dating back to 1978. One of the largest is an old arcade cabinet that has registered almost 36,000 quarters over its lifetime. Jackpot!
- He recently built a solar powered portable sound system, mostly from a defective/recycled car and home stereo parts.
Name: Jon Marvell
Title: Product Succes Coach
- Jon enjoys a good cup of coffee and a bad movie. If you haven’t seen “The Room”, it’s worth the laugh.
- Jon finally tied the knot this past summer, after many pandemic delays!
- Consumes what some might consider 'too much' coffee (he’s in good company at Orbis).

- Hakeem is a huge fan of music but doesn’t play any instruments… yet.
- Hakeem is a self-proclaimed video game geek.
- He enjoys exercise and hits the gym whenever he can.
